RAMSGATE HARBOUR RAILWAY STATION, Kent, photographed in 1920. Aerial view. The former terminus of the Faversham - Ramsgate line, this station was built in 1863 for 4 platforms, covered by a large arched roof. After closure in 1926, it was used to house the `Pleasurama' funfair. Damaged by fire in 2005. EPW000093 Aerofilms Collection (see Links).

Royal Albert Bridge, Saltash, Cornwall. This bowstring tubular plate girder railway bridge over the River Tamar connects Devonport in Devon to Saltash in Cornwall. Built by the engineer I K Brunel, work began on the bridge in 1848 and was completed in 1859. Photographed by Eric de Mare in 1954 with a goods train steaming across the bridge.

GREAT EASTERN RAILWAY STATION EXTENSION, Liverpool Street, London. Interior showing the completed roof structure with two figures in shot. Liverpool Street opened as the London terminus of the Great Eastern Railway in 1874. This eastern shed was opened 2 April 1894, but was removed in 1985 to make way for new developments. Photographed for Mr A Handysides by Bedford Lemere in 1894.
